UberPOP Sweden – unsustainable for the industry and for society
The Swedish Taxi Association (Svenska Taxiforbundet) has presented a report (in Swedish only) detailing why the business model UberPOP is not sustainable, neither for the taxi industry nor for the community at large.
“We are very positive about the opportunities of technological progress, but new players must also follow the rules and pay the taxes all other companies pay. If some players are allowed to break the rules it ends the way the market works. The unbooked minicab service UberPOP is a problem for the taxi industry, but also a threat to the whole welfare state”, write Peter Norman, chairman and Claudio Skubla, director of the Swedish taxi association, in the introduction to the report which can be found here:
