TLC-chief Meera Joshi promises a rosy 2016 for yellow cab drivers
Reactions to her upbeat speech Thursday morning (January 14, 2016) at business magazine Crain’s Breakfast were mixed. It’s very difficult to deny that Uber has got this city and particularly its black car industry in a stranglehold. That is clear from the way Mayor De Blasio pussyfooted around with the study on New York’ streets being clogged with Uber vehicles. See below.
One emailed commentary on Joshi’s speech was pretty caustic: “Hey, Meera why don’t you tell us how many taxis are in the TLC storage or how many taxi are sitting idling in front of garages because shortage of drivers? That’s why Meera, taxis still enjoy a strong supply of customers, because they are not too many on the streets anymore.
