With new CEO Pat Lashinsky at the helm, US-based travel app Taxi Magic is making its presence felt in its major markets. At the beginning of June the app surprised dozens of Los Angeles taxi users with an in-taxi comedian, games and prizes. Earlier Taxi Magic had dared Angelenos to hail a taxi in its ‘Taxi Truth or Dare’-week.

Anyone who randomly hailed the ‘Taxi Truth or Dare’-taxi in Los Angeles was rewarded with the chance to play. Players got their ride for free and had a chance to win additional Taxi Magic credits, gift cards to local retailers, and other surprise rewards. Those who successfully hailed the ‘Truth or Dare’-taxi but didn’t want to play, still got a free ride, courtesy of Taxi Magic. The lucky LA riders who booked a ride with Taxi Magic also had a chance to play an improvisational truth-or-dare-style game with LA-based comedian Chris Fairbanks in return for a free taxi ride and a shot at other prizes.

As host of Taxi Magic’s Taxi Truth or Dare, Fairbanks quizzes contestants on embarrassing ‘truths’ about themselves or dares them to complete hilarious challenges like prank calling their parents and performing celebrity impressions.
