SuperShuttle now serving Amsterdam
SuperShuttle is now providing its services at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS). It is SuperShuttle and ExecuCar’s third European airport service area after London (3 airports + Eurostar-terminal) and Paris (3 airports). At Amsterdam Schiphol Airport SuperShuttle and ExecuCar, both part of Veolia Transportation On Demand, will partner with Dutch Veolia-Transdev affiliate Connexxion, with over 1.800 buses, 15 trains, 4 ships, 3.207 minivans and 561 taxi vehicles the largest public transport operator in The Netherlands.
From the US travellers can book a seamless journey with SuperShuttle to any destination in the country, travelling on either with Connexxion’s Schiphol Hotel Shuttle, which serves the Amsterdam area, or with Schiphol Travel Taxi, a joint-venture between airport operator Schiphol Group and Connexxion. In either case, the vehicles will be comfortable Mercedes Sprinter 8-seater minivans with free WiFi on board. SuperShuttle also allows customers to earn airline points and miles on participating carriers when booking reservations online or via mobile apps.
Connexxion expects a similar seamless booking procedure to the US “in about a year” and is looking into tagging its existing Dutch airport operations with the SuperShuttle name, whilst keeping the existing brands.
SuperShuttle International, based in Phoenix, is the leading airport ground transportation service in the US, serving over 40 airports with its typical blue vans. It carries more than eight million passengers a year. SuperShuttle’s shared-ride service also provides ExecuCar private sedan service at all airports served by SuperShuttle plus additional locations, 70 in total. International expansion of the blue brand has been slow to date, with operations in Mexico (2), Paris, London and now Amsterdam only being added in the last three years.
