Raluca Marian joined the International Road Transport (IRU) in Brussels in May 2018 as Senior Adviser passenger transport, where she manages the representation of interests and legal matters relating to passenger transport by road.
Before joining the IRU, Raluca spent more than 10 years as a lawyer on competition and regulation in Norton Rose Fulbright’s team in Brussels, advising on a wide range of competitive areas, including merger control, investigations, abuse of dominance, horizontal and vertical agreements and State aid legislation. Regarding regulation, her focus was on transport regulation, export control and market access.
Raluca holds a postgraduate degree in Economics for Competition Law from King’s College London and an LL.M. degree in international legal cooperation from the Free University of Brussels.
Earlier, in November 2017, Carlo Giro joined the IRU Brussels office as a policy officer. He supports the work of the passenger transport team with a focus on taxi issues. Before joining the IRU, Carlo worked as a trainee in communication and external policy at the office of the President of the European Parliament. He also worked as Public Policy Trainee at the FIA in Brussels.
Carlo holds a bachelor’s degree in Politics and International Relations with a minor in History from Utrecht University and a Master in International Relations from the Institut Barcelona d’Estudis Internacionals.
