IRU’s Global Taxi Network (GTN) welcomed a new high quality partner in Russia: Moscow’s Rezident Taxi. It is the newest addition to IRU’s network which provides high quality, safe, and legal taxi services to customers around the world. Taxi 068, Taxi 777 and Semerochka 777-777-0 from St. Petersburg already represented Russia in the GTN-system.
IRU’s Secretary General, Umberto de Pretto said: “Rezident Taxi is a welcomed addition to our Global Taxi Network. This is an important step in enhancing our presence in Russia and in further advancing our global coverage and the service provided to customers.”
Valery Anatolievich Cherenkov, Director General of Rezident Taxi, said, “We support the international community of taxi operators in their effort to create a global network of quality taxi services. Our company is looking to expand its business and we hope to find business partners in GTN for mutually beneficial cooperation. I am sure that having joined the GTN we have found like minded people.”
The Global Taxi Network is a partnership of taxi industry federations and taxi app providers. Its objective is to promote legal, reliable, high quality and safe services to taxi customers, by making use of the latest smartphone technology in full respect of the regulatory framework in force. The IRU launched this taxi industry initiative less than a year ago and the network already operates on 5 continents encompassing more than 250,000 taxis worldwide, with on average 30,000 taxis added to its partners’ fleets every month. Eventually GTN’s aim is to cover 10% of the world’s taxi fleet, over 500.000 taxis.
- Next to 3 St. Petersburg companies, Rezident Taxi is the first Moscow representative in GTN.
