The ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment has already done a financial inventory for the adjustment costs: manufacturers count on amounts between € 30,000 and € 320,000 for software adaptation. Secretary of state Mansveld is considering a financial contribution to the producers for acceleration of this project (within the EU subsidy framework). This way the (additional) costs for the industry would remain limited, as requested by (among others) the Dutch taxi association KNV Taxi.
Then again, an amount between € 5,000 and € 25,000 is needed for certification and € 60 per BCT (excluding software costs) for the rollout. The ministry is not yet commenting on the actual potential for additional government aid to the industry.
- Will there still a financial contribution to the BCT misery?
