Curb rolls out Connect
Curb (formerly Taxi Magic) is rolling out Connect, a national platform to empower taxi companies and deliver the best ride experience in town. It is now operational in select cities and will be available in additional cities in the USA. Fleet customers can gain access to Curb’s new service by transitioning to Curb’s upgraded service level.
Since launching Taxi Magic in January 2008, Curb has extended coverage to over 60 North American cities (working with nearly 100 ground transportation companies) and obtained over 3 million app downloads. Curb maintains a nationwide consumer base of several million highly-mobile customers. “To ensure a seamless, consistent and high-quality ride experience for both riders and drivers, the taxi industry needs a mainstay platform to standardize technologies and processes,” said Patrick Lashinsky, CEO at Curb. “Curb Connect provides a clear path to the important goal of industry standardization, ensuring interested fleets with varying technology setups can connect their systems, service Curb ride requests and access tools and information that will help them better run their fleet.”
“In a few months of operations on the Curb Connect platform, we have an improved understanding of our local service, including market conditions that affect reliability and specific drivers that require more attention and training,” said Jack Bewley, the owner of Dallas Yellow Cab. “Curb provides DFW Metroplex taxi riders with the mobile features they want, while providing us with insights that guide our business.” Dallas Yellow Cab, which recently installed 1,000 Curb Passenger Information Monitors (PIMs), went live on Curb Connect in July 2014. The Curb mobile app is available for free download at http://gocurb.com/app. Curb has raised over $40 million in financing and estimates significant continued growth.
