Bill Munro updates London taxi book
Just as the London taxi industry is in the middle of a sea change,
not only competing with private hire but also with numerous apps and quite a few new and durable special London taxi models are expected to come on stream between now and two years’ time, lifelong London taxi driver and specialist publisher Bill Munro released an update of his standard work ‘London Taxis – A Full History’.
The story started in 1897, when the first horseless cab, the Bersey, appeared on London’s streets, continued with many makes of different cabs and in the last chapter Munro has included the latest changes on the London taxi front: the takeover of the London Taxi Company by the Chinese Geely Company, the announcement of new models by Nissan and Metrocab and the new concepts for London by the London Taxi Company and Turkish carmaker Karsan.
